I want to start by introducing a new, exciting brand of women's luxury fashion to you. Our capsule Italian collection is launching with 20 key pieces for the Spring/Summer 17 season. Think; pretty ruffles, bold tropical prints, pale pastel hues, chic maxis and tailored silhouettes. Our luxury collection will be launching early May at www.caviarstatus.com.
Let me start talking about our first week in action together as a team here at the office. In fact, let me introduce you to everyone here as a start...
Firstly, we have Giorgia. Giorgia is the brains behind Caviar Status and is the decision-maker on all of our lines. She has may years experience in the fashion industry and is continuing her passion by launching our prestige brand. Next, there's Rosie. Rosie has a degree in business studies from Bournemouth University and has previously done a year in industry at Stella McCartney. Finally, there's me, Izzy. I am head of marketing and social media here at Caviar Status.
All week was the build up to Caviar Status' SS17 photo shoot on the 16th and 17th March. Let's start with the beginning of the week, when the samples arrived. It is so exciting to see the key pieces that are behind the brand. Our collection has 20 key pieces that are all designed and manufactured in Italy. The collection is beyond beautiful with many different colours, shapes and patterns. There is something for everyone in this collection as it is so varied. As soon as the samples arrived the team, together with our stylist, set our minds to the up and coming shoot.
Ok, now onto the models, we used an agency called Base Models. Base Models is situated in London and has been established for 12 years! They represent a variety of different models, actors and talent based within the UK and Europe. The models we used were called Georgia and Karolina. Georgia was the model on the first day and Karolina the second. Both of the girls were extremely professional and fun to work with.
Next, lets talk about hair and makeup. We used Pamela Moss at www.pamelamoss.co.uk. Pamela is based in Hampshire and London and has been in the business for over 15 years. She is a freelance artist and in 2015 and 2016 Pamela was also a finalist in the prestigious Professional Beauty 'UK Makeup Specialist of the Year' awards. She also runs her own makeup training academy, Mode.
Day 1
The day arrived. Thursday the 16th was upon us. Georgia was collected from the train station at 10am (now we have two Georgia's, confusing I know). So, there was time for the team to do a final steam and iron of all the pieces, and then Pamela and her assistant Raj Basi turned up at the set. They started to unpack all of their makeup and hair equipment and oh my! What a collection they had. This collection was any makeup lovers dream with brands such as Laura Mercier, MAC, Chanel and YSL. Both Pamela and Raj were so talented and efficient when Georgia arrived they both got straight down to work.
Clothes wise, al pieces had been styled over the past week, it was just a matter of the team deciding where the outfits would be shot on the location. Unfortunately, mother nature was not kind to us, (typical UK I know), and so the outfits would be best suited to shooting indoors. Once Pamela and Raj had created their masterpiece the shoot could begin!
The photographer, Mark, got to work. He shot in various locations around the house. Let's say there was a lot of furniture moving around that day to make space!
One of my personal favourite locations around the house was when we got the chance to shoot outside briefly with a Bentley. Hilary, having manoeuvred the car onto the driveway, was tempted to drive off set, being such a nice set of wheels. The sky was grey and moody and this will look effective on the final edits.
The day went by so fast, it went really smoothly and was a great achievement shooting half of the collection. Now, the team have a lot to live up to the following day.
Day 2
Friday the 17th March was our last day of shooting. It was the same time schedule, but with extra looks to shoot than the previous day. So, we were under a time pressure but we knew with such a great team we could do it! This time our model was the beautiful Karolina. She arrived at 10am and Pamela was on hand straight away to perfect her hair and makeup, and she did an excellent job at fulfilling exactly the kind of looks our stylist envisioned.
The weather was slightly better on the Friday and so, we were able to use many outdoor location. This was brilliant but unfortunately for Mark it meant that he ended up paddling in the water feature (sorry, Mark!)
We cannot wait to see the final edits and for the big launch of the site in May 2017
